The second annual Arte Du Monde arts week runs February 4-13, 2011, and is a call to action and celebration of the Bay Area's influential cultural arts scene. An international destination for the arts, San Francisco and the surrounding area hosts numerous festivals, exhibitions and performances throughout the year. Arte Du Monde SF is an opportunity to participate in the vibrant arts environment, and visit new art fairs, galleries, museums or performances.

Arte Du Monde San Francisco is anchored by three major international art fairs. The San Francisco Arts of Pacific Asia Show (SFAPA) anchors the first weekend (Feb. 4-6) of Arte du Monde. And the San Francisco Tribal & Textile Arts Show (SFTTA) and Marin Show: Art of the Americas (MSAA) comprise the second leg, also known as the first "Tribal Arts Weekend". Collectively, these art fairs showcase more than 400 of the world's most respected galleries, educational programming, local art exhibitions and cultural events. Considered the largest and most established gathering of cultural arts in the world, art specialists, collectors, connoisseurs and enthusiasts have flocked to these events for more than two decades. The San Francisco and the Marin Convention & Visitors Bureaus, in partnership with art show producers Caskey Lees and KR Martindale Show Management, have helped support the launch of Arte Du Monde SF.

Arte Du Monde has partnered with additional cultural institutions--such as the Asian Art Museum, the Marin Museum of the American Indian, San Francisco Tribal, and the Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association (ATADA)--to offer special programming for Bay Area residents and visitors. The Asian Art Museum, the SF Tribal Show, and the Marin Show will feature lectures that will be free to the public, and the museum will also offer free admission on Sunday, February 7. The Marin Museum of the American Indian has extended their "A Thousand Years of Southwestern Pottery" through February to be part of the week, and the Marin Show is working with ATADA on an important panel for the public, "Collecting and the Law".
